About our CEO
Hello, I’m Ademide, founder of food and calories, a health brand focused on creating awareness on healthy food choices and helping you achieve your body and health goals. I’m also a Medical Doctor living and working in Lagos, Nigeria.
A short story about how I founded this brand
I was overweight; from my teenage years to my early twenties, and even though I wanted to get rid of the excess weight so badly, I didn’t know my nutrition was most important. I’d exercise for hours and cut off junk but it wasn’t working. I got frustrated, “but I’m eating healthy, that should suffice”, or I thought. I stumbled on a post about calories on the internet one day and began to research more on the topic. It was after I got to know the importance of calories and started applying them to my diet, did I begin to see visible changes in my body. Not only did I lose 15kg but I have also used the same research into our Nigerian foods to help over 1000 women in the last 2 years lose weight and get their bodies litt.
Beyond that, using my knowledge in the medical field and with my team of medical experts and dieticians, we have also included meal plans for people with certain health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, celiac disease and high cholesterol levels and we have gotten amazing feedback.
